Technology inside a Varta battery
PowerFrame
A stamped grid design, patented by the maker, that is stiffer than an expanded grid and resists corrosion better, which helps starting power hold up as the battery ages.
AGM
The acid is held in glass-fibre mats instead of moving freely, so the battery tolerates deep cycling, frequent restarts and the charging bursts from brake energy recovery.
EFB
A reinforced flooded design for entry-level start-stop cars. The maker rates it for roughly twice the cycling of a conventional battery, one step below AGM.

Is Varta Silver Dynamic AGM right for my BMW with start-stop?
Yes, in most cases. BMWs with start-stop leave the factory with an AGM battery and should get AGM again, in the same size and rating. After fitting we register the new battery to the car so the charging system treats it as new.
Can a Blue Dynamic EFB replace the AGM battery my car came with?
No, we do not recommend it. Varta itself advises against stepping down from AGM to EFB, because the car's energy management is set up for AGM performance. Going the other way, from EFB up to AGM, is fine.
Can you fit a Varta battery at my home on Yas Island?
Yes. Our technician brings the battery to your villa, apartment basement or hotel parking on Yas Island, tests the old one first, fits the new one and checks the alternator output. Fitted batteries carry our warranty of up to 24 months, depending on the battery.
