Start-stop on a Land Rover
Recent Land Rover models with start-stop need an EFB or AGM battery. We match the technology your car was built with, because a conventional battery will not last in a start-stop system.
Start-Stop Battery ReplacementLand Rover batteries · Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
Land Rover electrical systems are demanding and sensitive to voltage. Air suspension, terrain electronics and a long list of control modules lean on a large DIN AGM battery, and many models add a small auxiliary battery for start-stop. After replacement the battery monitoring system needs a reset. Battery position varies by model, so we check before we travel to you on Yas Island.

Most Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery and Defender models from recent years use a large AGM battery.
Many start-stop Land Rovers have a second, smaller auxiliary battery that can fail separately from the main one.
The battery monitoring system should be reset with a diagnostic tool after replacement so that charging and start-stop work correctly.
Low voltage can set off several unrelated warnings at once, such as suspension or gearbox faults, which often clear once a healthy battery is fitted.
Choose your Land Rover model for battery guidance specific to that car.

The car shows that message when battery charge falls below a set level with the engine off. Occasionally it is just long use of the screen and lights while parked. If it appears often, the battery is usually ageing, and a test will confirm it.
Yes, on most modern Land Rover models the battery monitoring system should be reset after a new battery is fitted. Otherwise the car may undercharge it or keep start-stop switched off. Our technician carries out the reset on site with a diagnostic tool.
Many Evoque versions with start-stop do have two: the main battery and a small auxiliary one. Either can cause warnings or disable start-stop. We test both, tell you which has failed, and replace only what is needed on the day.
Send your location, car make, model and year, plus a short description of the problem. We check battery availability and confirm the next steps.
