There is no fixed figure, because it depends on driving style more than age. Stop-start traffic, resting a foot on the pedal and holding the car on the clutch all shorten its life. A slipping clutch does not recover and should be replaced soon.
Not always. The flywheel is inspected once the gearbox is out. A solid flywheel in good shape can often be resurfaced, while a worn dual-mass flywheel is normally replaced. You are told what was found, with photos, before any extra work goes ahead.
A short drive may be possible, but we advise against taking the highway off Yas Island with it. A slipping clutch can fail completely under load and leave you stopped on a fast road. Flatbed collection from your home or parking is the safer option.
