Start-stop on a Porsche
Recent Porsche models with start-stop need an EFB or AGM battery. We match the technology your car was built with, because a conventional battery will not last in a start-stop system.

Every Porsche hides its battery somewhere different. The 911 and 718 keep it under a cover in the front luggage compartment, the Macan and Panamera carry it under the boot floor, and on many Cayenne generations it lives under a front seat. Most use DIN-size AGM batteries, some newer cars have a lightweight lithium 12V unit, and a replacement must be registered.
Cayenne
Macan
PanameraA new battery should be registered to the car's energy management system, which we do with a diagnostic tool on site.
On a 911 or Boxster with a completely flat battery the front lid will not open electrically, and it is released by feeding power to a terminal in the fuse box.
The Taycan and some recent sports models use a 12V lithium battery that must be replaced with the correct lithium type.
Porsches that are driven rarely discharge while parked, so a maintenance charger is worth using between drives.

FAQ
Short, direct answers. Message us if yours is not here.
Yes, this is a common situation. With a flat battery the front lid release has no power, so we feed a small supply through the emergency terminal in the fuse box to pop the lid. Then we can test, charge or replace the battery underneath.
Yes, on most Porsches from the mid-2000s onwards the new battery should be registered so the charging strategy starts fresh. If the type or capacity changes, that is entered too. Skipping it can leave warnings on and shorten battery life.
On many Cayenne generations it is under a front seat, reached by moving the seat and lifting a floor cover. Location varies by generation, so we confirm on arrival. Jump-start points under the bonnet let us power the car without touching the seat first.
Send your location, car make, model and year, plus a short description of the problem. We check battery availability and confirm the next steps.
