Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal details Yas Island Car Battery collects when you call, message us on WhatsApp or browse https://www.yasislandcarbattery.ae, why we need them, who we share them with and the choices you have. We collect only what it takes to reach your car and do the job, and we do not sell your data.

1. Who we are

Yas Island Car Battery is a mobile car battery service working on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A technician comes to your car to test, jump-start or replace the battery, and we can arrange other garage work on request. We decide how and why your details are used, which makes us the controller of that data.

This policy covers https://www.yasislandcarbattery.ae and the phone calls and WhatsApp chats that start from it. We handle personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, and we have written this page in plain language so you know what happens to your details.

2. What we collect

You do not create an account, and the site has no checkout and no contact form that stores your details. We do not store card numbers: if you pay by card or payment link, the card details are entered on the processor's terminal or secure page and handled by the payment processor, not by us.

We ask only for what a technician needs to find you and fit the right battery, and most of it comes from what you tell us by phone or WhatsApp. Depending on the job, the details we hold can include the following.

  • Your name and your phone or WhatsApp number
  • Your location: a map pin, address, building, venue or car park
  • Parking details such as level, bay number and access instructions
  • Your car's make, model and year, and the battery currently fitted
  • Photos you send of the battery, its label or the dashboard
  • The messages and call notes about your job
  • Invoice and warranty records for the work we carry out
  • Device and usage data gathered through cookies: pages viewed, approximate area, browser and device type, and whether a visit led to a call or a WhatsApp tap

3. How we collect it

Most details come straight from you: when you call +971 50 000 0000, when you message us on WhatsApp, and when the technician talks to you at the car. If you share a live location or a pin, we receive it through WhatsApp in the same chat.

The site itself collects usage data automatically through cookies and similar tools once a page loads. Tapping the call or WhatsApp button opens your phone's dialler or WhatsApp; the site records that the button was tapped, not what you go on to say.

If you book for someone else, such as a family member, a colleague or a hotel guest, please make sure they are happy for you to pass on their phone number, their car details and their location.

4. Why we use it

We do not use your details to make automated decisions about you. We do not send promotional messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and any such message will tell you how to stop them.

We use your details to do the job you asked for and to keep proper records of it. Where the law asks for your consent, for example for advertising cookies or marketing messages, we rely on that consent and you can withdraw it at any time. In practice we use your details for the purposes below.

  • Sending a technician to the right place and reaching you on arrival
  • Choosing a battery that suits your car
  • Confirming the quote and sending your invoice
  • Keeping warranty records and handling warranty claims
  • Sending service messages about your job, such as arrival updates
  • Arranging other garage work you ask us for
  • Improving the site and seeing which pages are useful
  • Measuring how well our adverts work
  • Meeting our legal and accounting obligations

5. Cookies and advertising technology

https://www.yasislandcarbattery.ae uses Google Analytics to count visits and see how pages are used, and Google Ads to measure whether an advert led to a call or a WhatsApp message. Google Ads may also use cookies to show our adverts to people who have visited the site before, which is known as remarketing.

These tools rely on cookies and similar identifiers stored in your browser. Google and other third-party vendors use them to serve adverts based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. We do not send your name, phone number or any other personally identifying information to Google's advertising products.

You can switch off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block and delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works if you refuse cookies. Google explains how it uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

6. WhatsApp and other third parties

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. We share only what is needed to carry out or pay for your job, and only with the parties listed below.

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside the UAE, under their own terms and safeguards. We ask the workshops and recovery operators we work with to use your details for your job and nothing else.

  • WhatsApp, operated by Meta: our chats pass through its service under its own privacy policy
  • Tabby and Tamara, if you choose to pay in instalments: they collect and check your details themselves under their own terms
  • Card processors and payment link providers that handle card payments
  • Partner workshops and recovery operators, when your job needs a workshop or a tow: they receive the name, number, location and car details needed to do it
  • Google, for the analytics and advertising described above
  • Authorities or courts, where UAE law requires it

7. Location data

Your location is what makes a mobile service possible, so we ask for a pin, an address or a clear description of where the car is parked. We use it to guide the technician and, if needed, pass it to the recovery operator or workshop handling your job.

We do not track your phone. A live location shared on WhatsApp stops when you end it or when its timer runs out. Site analytics show only an approximate area based on your internet connection, such as the city, never your exact position.

8. How long we keep it

We keep job, invoice and warranty records for as long as the battery warranty runs, which is up to 24 months depending on the battery, and afterwards for as long as UAE law requires businesses to keep financial records. Without the record we could not honour a warranty claim.

Chats and photos that are no longer needed for a job or a warranty are deleted when we clear our devices. Analytics data is held by Google for the retention period set in our account and is then removed automatically.

9. Security

Access to customer details is limited to the people who need them: the staff who take your call and the technician attending your car. We keep our phones and accounts locked and protected by sign-in checks, and the site is served over an encrypted connection.

No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach puts your personal data at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

10. Your rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you have the rights listed below over the personal data we hold about you. To use any of them, contact us on +971 50 000 0000 or at hello@yasislandcarbattery.ae. We may ask a question or two to confirm it is really you, and we will reply within a reasonable time.

If we cannot do what you ask, for instance because we must keep an invoice for legal reasons, we will explain why. You also have the right to complain to the UAE Data Office if you believe we have mishandled your data.

  • Access: ask for a copy of the details we hold about you
  • Correction: ask us to fix anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Deletion: ask us to delete details we no longer need and are not required by law to keep
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your details while a query is being resolved
  • Withdrawing consent: at any time, without affecting what was done before
  • Objecting to marketing: tell us to stop and we will

11. Children

Our service is for drivers and vehicle owners, and the site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service, the tools we use or the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version. If a change significantly affects how we use your details, we will make it clear on the site.

13. Contact us
