Does a Subaru Forester need a special battery?

If your Forester has auto start-stop, yes, it needs a start-stop rated JIS battery, usually EFB. Earlier Foresters without the feature take a normal maintenance-free battery. We check the model year and the label on the existing battery before choosing.

Why does my Subaru battery go flat when the car is parked?

The car keeps some systems awake while parked, and in Abu Dhabi heat a partly worn battery loses charge faster. Two or three weeks without driving can be enough. We test for abnormal drain and battery health, then advise whether it needs replacing or just charging.

Can a European-size battery be fitted to a Subaru Outback?

It is not recommended. The Outback's tray, clamp and cable lengths are designed around a JIS case, and a different shape may not secure properly. A loose battery fails early from vibration. We fit the correct JIS size and terminal layout.
