Is my KGM battery a Japanese or European size?

It depends on the model and year. Older KGM cars mostly use Japanese-pattern sizes, while many newer ones use European DIN cases. The two do not swap easily because the hold-down differs, so we check the label before choosing a replacement.

Does a KGM need coding after a new battery?

No coding is normally required. On KGM models with a battery sensor, the car recalibrates by itself once it has been locked and left for a few hours. Start-stop may stay off until then, which is expected and clears without further work.

Can I use a standard battery in a KGM with start-stop?

We do not recommend it. A KGM with start-stop is designed around AGM, which handles frequent restarts and deeper discharge. A standard battery will work for a while but fails early and may leave start-stop disabled. We replace like for like.
